Duong Bich Lien, born in Hung Yen province in 1924 and died in 1988, is was a talented painter, one of the distinguished later graduates from the Indochina Fine Arts College, 18th intake, from 1944 to 1949.

He painted in oil, pastel and lacquer. He left many portraits and succeeded most in the genre. He has works in the Fine Arts Museum of Vietnam and in domestic and overseas private collections.

He won the first prize at the national fine arts exhibition in 1980.

Some of his main works are ‘Harvest Time’ (oil, Fine Arts Museum of Vietnam) and ‘Girl and Chrysanthemum’ (oil, collection of Hao Hai).
